December Netflix Playlist

December 23, 2016 Elizabeth Stubbs

With the craziness of the holidays in full swing, you might be looking for a welcome distraction or a nice way to relax.

Whether you're trying to relax and get festive in the third trimester or trying to entertain a house full of littles, a solid Netflix playlist for December should be on the menu. There's no shortage of holiday flare to browse through on Netflix, but there's always a few that shine a little brighter.

Plus who has time to sit and scroll through movie titles?

We have presents to wrap and cookies to bake!

Here's our top picks to help your family unwind and unleash some holiday spirit in the crazy days ahead from now until 2017.

Scrooged

Charles Dickens was onto something with A Christmas Carol, as if he knew it would become one of the most re-imagined Christmas stories of all time. All the versions out there are worth watching, but Bill Murray's performance in Scrooged transforms this classic tale into a hilarious holiday comedy. Scrooged is an absolute must see if you want to settle in to a classic Christmas comedy that will keep you watching year after year.

The Legend of Frosty the Snowman

Looking for a charming Christmas classic for the kids or something to get you feeling a little nostalgic? Frosty the Snowman is at the top of our list every year and we're thankful that Netflix made it a point to include this family favorite into the cue. It's playful and cute, but be careful when introducing this film to your kids because they might just fall in love and you'll be watching Frosty the Snowman in July of next year.

Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year

Looking for a movie to bridge the gap between the holidays and New Year's? Winnie the Pooh is a cute way to get your little ones excited about celebrating the New Year. Winnie the Pooh is lighthearted and sweet, making it the perfect movie to choose right before settling down your little ones for bedtime.

Christmas at  Pee Wee's Playhouse

Sometimes you need to watch something weird to clear your mind, and Pee Wee's Playhouse is definitely classic weird. This Christmas special features a ton of celebrity cameos and is totally nostalgic for the 80's and 90's babies out there. If you've never had the privilege of watching Pee Wee's Christmas Special, now might just be the perfect time.

Once you burn through all our picks we left you under the tree, check out this awesome list of the top holiday movies that the Netflix cue has to offer.
